he is not just an amateur ornithologist… he is also an oceanographer too or whatever you call someone who spends all his time with his head underwater observing aquatic life.

Plastic ball holders and stainless steel clubs. Pretty good for a pre-stone age society.

If that’s an amateur, I’d like to see what a professional can do.

Sorry; that shouldn’t count as a hole in one! A birdie, maybe!

There was a golf tournament a few years ago where a seagull stole the ball.

Jesus, Moses, and an old man are playing golf. They step up to a par 3.Jesus is up first. He drives the ball short, into the water trap in front of the green. So Jesus, being Jesus, walks on the water, chips the ball onto the green and putts for par.

Moses is next. He drives the ball into the same water trap. So Moses, being Moses, parts the water, chips the ball onto the green, and putts for par.

The old man is up. He drives the ball and it’s heading for the water trap. Before the ball lands in the water, a fish jumps out and catches the ball in its mouth. Before the fish lands back in the water, a bird swoops down, snags the fish, and begins to fly away. As it’s circling over the green, a bolt of lighting strikes the bird, causing it to drop the fish onto the green. The ball pops out of the fish’s mouth, and rolls into the hole for a hole-in-one.

Jesus turns to the old man and says, “Dad, if you don’t stop fooling around we’re not gonna bring you next time.”

It’s not a hole in one.

    Rules of Golf:

11.2 Ball in Motion Deliberately Deflected or Stopped by Person

    c. Place from Where Deliberately Deflected or Stopped Ball Must Be PlayedIf it is known or virtually certain that a player’s ball in motion was deliberately deflected or stopped by a person (whether or not the ball has been found), it must not be played as it lies. Instead, the player must take relief:

    (1) Stroke Made from Anywhere Except Putting Green. The player must take relief based on the estimated spot where the ball would have come to rest if not deflected or stopped

Does a hole in one count if it’s done by a birdie?
