I think I made that “yip, yip” sound as well when I walked (well ran) across a beach under a baking sun. The sand was so hot I couldn’t even walk on it without is scalding my feet. I had to make a run for it to the beach towel for safety.

Poor Bumper!! We don’t often see him in distress.
The birds might have something to say about this.
All Bumper had to do was leave the sidewalk and stand on grass.
