I know they mean the movie industry, and not actually the city of “Hollywood”, but it puts an image in my head of the city actually moving… in the dead of night… while nobody is watching.
So the other day I ducked into a small gift shop, and I was there for literally 5 minutes. When I came out there was a motorcycle cop writing a parking ticket. So I went up to him and said, “Come on, buddy, how about giving a guy a break?”
He ignored me and continued writing the ticket. So I called him a pencil-necked Nazi lover. He glared at me and started writing another ticket for worn tires!
So I then asked him if his psychiatrist makes him lie face down on the couch cause he’s so ugly. He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he started writing a third ticket!
This went on for about 20 minutes… the more I insulted him, the more tickets he wrote. But I didn’t care. Luckily, my car was parked around the corner.
Hollywood began with Thomas Edison. Since he didn’t want to hire Jewish actors and hired thugs to destroy movie sets because he felt that he owned the rights to any and all films made since he filed the first patent for the motion picture camera. So Hollywood move to California.
I have no idea what they’re saying in that Hollywood bit…wait, do they mean the movie industry? I guess that’s what they mean. THey do know that Hollywood is a town yes? The Charlie Chaplain one doesn’t seem very RBION…

It wasn’t ‘Hollywood’, it was “Hollywoodland” until some of the letters fell down.

There wasn’t a place in New York and New Jersey named Hollywood that moved to California. It was the film industry that moved to Hollywood.

People remember Astoria and Jersey but tend to forget the brief time that Jacksonville became the world’s movie capitol.

I bet some of the “Hollywood” people took flight to avoid paying those traffic and parking tickets. Just like the Dodgers skipping town.

New York, a typical blue city, raising taxes and taxing everything but the air, but they won’t make criminals pay.

NYC could easily cover those tickets if they just forbid the NYPD from racking up fake overtime hours.

Time magazine was only 2 years old when they put Chaplin on the cover.

Look it up, Edison was a dick! (sing that as a jingle, it came from a Family Guy cutaway)

I had a parking ticket from NYC in the 1970’s I never paid. Come and get me copper!

It’s deja vu all over again. Today’s comic resembles yesterday’s comic.
