    Wait, that’s not Rite-Aid. Everything isn’t locked behind plexi-glass.

Timely. Here in the Pacific Northwest, Rite Aid bought Pay Less and Bartell’s. Recently they closed the old Pay Less distribution center in Wilsonville, Oregon. It’s the end of an era, and they’re still closing stores. And now Wallgreen’s is starting to close stores too. Where else am I going to go to involuntarily smell perfume displays on my way to looking at leftover Halloween candy?

All the Rite Aids here (Memphis) were bought out by Walgreens. The “there’s never anyone in here” crown was picked up by CVS.

Why can’t Heart just tell her, hey, I’ve started growing underarm hair?

Yeah, there is a very self-conscious age when you think the world cares about you… And then you realize no one cares, as long as you do nothing to inconvenience them.

I have to wonder if Steenz is deliberately supporting Rite-Aid, famously in financial trouble.

Addie, it doesn’t matter. Even if she doesn’t need one, she wants one to feel comfortable. Just get her one and show her how to use it instead of debating it to death. Her period could start any day and every body is different. One size doesn’t fit all. Buy her a razor, buy her some period product, put them somewhere she has easy access to and let her use them when she wants to.

This, btw. is a PSA for all parents of AFAB children and girls, many girls get their period as early as 8 or 9 years old, so have a talk with them before that and make period and body care products available them to them early and where they can discretely access them.

These retailers are getting what they deserve. Before the pandemic they were opening stores left and right and across the street from each other in many cases. So now they’re realizing the public doesn’t need a drugstore on every corner and they’re closing a lot of them. The same thing happened with malls and strip malls. They built too many and now a lot of them are empty and abandoned or close to ghost towns. Pretty sad and such a waste of real estate.

And the worst part is, that tumbleweed is a real blabbermouth.

The average age for girls to start puberty is 11, (Heart’s age, by the way). But it’s perfectly normal for puberty to begin at any point between the ages of 8 and 13 in girls and 9 and 14 in boys.

My kiddos did it backwards – their periods started a couple of years before the armpit hair.

    That’s rarity for those stores.
