MAGAts freak if anyone says ‘assault weapon’. Say that and they are OUTRAGED!!!!!!!!!

They will rush to make sure only the approved phrase ‘assault STYLE weapon’ is used and then accuse you of not knowing anything about guns and claim you are too stupid to have any opinion about weapons of any kind.

That will be followed by some variation of how ANY effort to reduce gun violence is exactly the same as total confiscation of all guns.

You can “bump fire” a semi-auto rifle with your belt loop. The 1934 National Firearms Act definition of a machinegun is perfectly clear. The justices ruled correctly in this case. Hopefully, using the Bruen ruling, the NFA and the GCA will be ruled unconstitutional as well.

Citizens should not own guns, except maybe for hunting and sports (like clay pigeon shooting or target practice). I don’t care what your 2nd Amendment says. Citizens should not own guns, and I stand by my words.

Yes, if only we could eliminate bump stocks there would no longer be any mass shootings & Palestine would be free to live in a world devoid of climate change. You people are all mentally deranged.

It amazes me all the arguing and commotion the democrats do to try to get more gun control, they make their arguments over and over and over again, then the NRA member walks up to a podium and simply says…….”2nd amendment, thank you very much, have a wonderful day ladies and gentlemen, and it’s all over with…

As a longtime supporter of strict gun control laws, let me note that while I disagree with the Court’s decision there is a valid point there that such a ban should be legislated by Congress rather than decreed by the executive branch. The only problem with that is that when Senator Schumer attempted to do just that this week, spineless MAGAt worms like Lindsay Graham prevented it and the idiot actually said he was “standing with the Court.”

So if I buy some fertilizers and a few other off the shelf chemicals, put them together to bring down a building (let’s say an FBI office in Oklahoma) then that wasn’t a bomb because it wasn’t labeled as a bomb when I bought it?

This ruling was not a Second Amendment issue; the Court said that the ATF did not have the authority to change the law by decree.

Current laws define “machine gun” (to the point that the sear of an automatic weapon is, in and of itself, a machine gun, and subject to all the restrictions thereupon); this had led the ATF to say that bump stocks were not machine guns – which, by law, they were not.

After the Las Vegas shooting, they changed the regulation to say they were, in fact, machine guns.

In this case, the Court reiterated that changing the law requires an act of Congress.

Whether you think bump stocks should be legal or not, I hope we can agree that this is true.

There was a time when the Supreme Court Justices were respected for their political impartiality and their ability to interpret the law. They were held up as the epitome of judicial and personal integrity.

Sadly, the majority of today’s Supreme Court Grudges are petty-minded, venal, political-motivated apologists for the rich and the Trumplican right.

Even more problematic — using terminology from 1787 — a “bump stock” would refer to a white male land owner running into one of his cows or horses with his carriage.

Cowardly bribe-taking Thomas “reasoning” on this issue is like cowardly bribe-taking Alito’s “reasoning” on the Roe case, wherein he praised a witch hunter. In other words, a murderer.

As long as there’s a superhero theme, let’s re-define SHAZAM for the six members making this the Sub-par court. S for the courage of Smith (Dr. Smith from “Lost in Space”). H for the dishonesty of Harkness (Digger Harkness aka Captain Boomerang). A for the ales the perjurer Kavanough is addicted to. Z for the zero respect patriotic Americans have for the six reactionaries.

SCOTUS might be better abbreviated to honor the workings of Mitch McConnell – ’twas he who ensured the only “justices” (small j) enthroned on his watch would be right-wing religionists, hence:

    S upreme

    C ourt

    U nder

    M itch

    - or SCUM for short

Keep in mind that Thomas was the only dissent in the case today of temporarily disarming a complete menace to society while he had a restraining order against him by his ex-girlfriend (who he used the weapon on already). So, he’s pro-murdering women. Well, we already knew that with the Roe decision, but it’s nice to have it confirmed so clearly. Good thing Ginni wears the pants in that relationship or she should be scared.

All of these arguments mean nothing. The only thing that matters in Merica, is the bottom line. So what if people continue to get killed. It’s good for business. In fact, every time there’s a mass shooting, gun sales increase. So the more mass shootings, the better. Killing people just because has become a very lucrative business. If you get killed, it’s your fault because you weren’t armed. Never mind the fact if you are armed and try to defend yourself during a mass shooting, there’s a good chance the police will kill you instead of the shooter. But all of this means nothing as long as the gun sales continue. And before anyone starts with the rebuttals, yes, I’m a gun owner. Yes, I’ve owned them my entire life. And yes, no private citizen has any reason to own a firearm that can kill large amounts of people in a small amount of time.
