Good to see him “clean up” his appearance.

Looks a lot better. Bet Rhetta is mentally thanking Elly. Some men can wear beard well and keep them clean, combed and trimmed. Mike isn’t that guy.

Oh, they’re QUITE aware of that!! Hormone-ravaged teenager—he “knows” what he’s doing, all right!

LOL. As I said the other day… This is the beginning of Lynn Johnston trying to make Michael out to be some sort of intellectual..

Mike is a guy that ALMOST knows what he is doing.

In my Miss Manner’s Etiquette book from circa the 1950’s, When men are walking their special lady on the sidewalk, men are supposed to walk closer to the side of the road – so as to protect their ladies from being splashed by mud from passing cars!

He’s no Peter Parker….nor Clark Kent for that matter….he’s successful with girls without super powers!

I remember those days. In my 20s with a full beard and a handlebar mustache . I can’t quite remember why I though it looked good, although I was working in wilds of Wyoming and probably thought I looked like a mountain man. It disappeared when I moved to the corporate office,

Oh they thinking “He know what he doing” all right." And on their next date, he be doing even better.

Very good, Mike! Now you should get ahead – at being a journalist, that is.

Michael is a go-nowhere. He never reads a book nor does he volunteer with any civic organizations. During high school he never played sports nor was he was involved with Boy Scouts. Boys his age realized that there are only so many opportunities out there, and those opportunities are given to those who get out there and make something of themselves.

In the UK beards are very popular with men of all ages at the moment. I quite like a neat beard on a chap, although some men can’t really carry it off.

If he could sing and / or play a guitar, he could be one of the early 1960s musical acts, like the Kingston Trio or the early Beach Boys…
