Man, can I remember those long, boring road trips as a kid! In fact, my father’s idea of a “vacation” was just getting in the car and driving around aimlessly!

Farley never would’ve made that mistake.

I now realize why they dragged Elizabeth along instead of Mike: with his writing expertise, he could have done a scathing expose on a seemingly endless road trip with boring parents and a bratty kid sister—and maybe even gotten it published!

Our son always slept in the car during road trips. Fortunately that doesn’t happen when he’s the driver.

Interesting that they are doing the northern route, not through the States

Must have gotten a late start as it’s 3 hr 58 min (393.5 km/ 244.5 mi) from Mississauga to Sudbery. No wonder it’s going to take them 4 days to get to Winnepeg.

Mom and Dad should have packed or at least checked the bag.

Wondering how slow John drives, North Bay to Sudbury is only a 1.5 hour drive….

My folks used to give us lifesavers on long road trips.

Yeah, she’s getting a little long in the tooth to be traveling in a car with the family, you get a little too tied to your friends and social life by that age. All part of growing up and being a miserable teenager. Is there any other kind ??? ;-)

Notice Elizabeth was the one who brought stuff to entertain April.

Elizabeth’s mood seems to have improved. Up till npw I’d have thought it was she who needed to be kept happy.

I had family in Sudbury, years ago…

It would behoove Elizabeth to treat her parents with respect, as Lawrence and the Enjos do to their parents. All Elizabeth needs to say are simple phrases

“No, thank you”

“Yes, please”

“Anything you want, Mistress Elly and Massa John”
