I don’t understand why they care about the holiday weekend, at least in a positive way. They don’t seem to have jobs, so it isn’t that. I doubt they miss the traffic and such.
Around here It starts in early spring and sometimes lasts till November /December, depending on the weather. Temperature at Christmas sometimes is in the 80s. It finally clears out around the first of the year when the water temp is so low or as Jimmy says " When The Coast Is Clear"
This marriage was indeed made in heaven because they are perfect for each other. Each of them is so neurotic that the other is the only one who could possibly live with them.
Before Covid we were always away for July 4th. Boy were we lucky. I should first mention that in our state ALL fireworks (even sparklers) are illegal.
The place sounds like a war zone. There is a school on the main street which crosses our street – no official fireworks, but one would never know that from the professional looking display. The cross street to the north of us – and across our street from us this year had 2 sets of major (again, professional looking) aerial displays. The cross street directly across from us also had a major professional type display shot off from the street. The street behind our house seems to have an awful lot of ground fireworks.
All but the aerial displays started a week before July 4th and as of tonight – July 8 – are continuing.
in 2020 the first year we were home and were stuck in the middle of all this – two guys were firing off aerial fireworks from the middle of our street – a 4 lane main road – while vehicles were driving along it and created a massive traffic jam – luckily we have not seen that again.
And remember that even sparklers are illegal here!

My Dad would always schedule our vacations for around July 4th, then get angry over how much traffic we encountered.
