Always have loved the Calvin perspective of early elementary school. Hated having to go to school, riding the bus, getting bossed around. It set me up for a life of hating bullies (they paid for it). Got over it on my 2nd week of retirement and now I’m even a better version of myself. Never go shopping when I’m in a hurry is the 1st rule…
Me too. When I was in fourth grade or so I wasted a lot of time trying to remember the last time I woke up feeling refreshed. All I could remember eas that it was before kindergarten.

Sometimes you just need an escape from it all.

If only you could take an underground passage to school so you wouldn’t know what you were missing!

Sounds good to me. Better that than the mind numbing forum that is school.

Listen carefully to what Hobbes just said, Calvin. That is what retirement is like! :0)

A good morning or sleep. A coin flip. But whichever, Cal would not be either enjoying the good morning or sleeping. He’d be up to something tricky.

Sorry. I have to disagree. One of the few cases where he gets the child psychology wrong.
No six year old boy ever wants to sleep. Or take a nap. They will find it with their last ounce of strength.
The indisputable guiding line for when you become an adult is when taking a nap becomes a reward, not a punishment.

The older I get, the more I prefer sleep over going out on a nice day
