There once was a man from Nantucket

Whose well produced oil by the bucket

When his pipeline broke down

He said with a frown

It looks like I’ll just have to truck it.

There was an old man from Nantucket

Who kept all his cash in a bucket

His daughter named Nan

Ran off with a man

And as for the bucket — Nantucket!

He followed the pair to Pawtucket

The man and the girl and the bucket

He said to the man

“You’re welcome to Nan”

But as for the bucket — Pawtucket!

They caught up with him in Manhasset

With the bucket he kept as an asset

Then Nan and her man

Grabbed the bucket and ran

Now as for the bucket — Manhasset!
