I was my HOA president. I fixed the mess left by the previous guy, got new roofs and gutters on all the buildings, fixed the streets then sold my unit and left. The monthly fees weren’t enough to even cover the monthly maintenance, let alone any reserves for repairs, I left the maximum increase allowed by law to take effect every year until it was in line with every other condo association in town. I’m sure the owners would be chasing me if they knew where I was. Perhaps they’d rather have blue tarps back on their roofs.
