Biden should suspend habeas corpus and send the Republican SC justices to Gitmo in his official capacity to protect the Constitution. Perfectly legal, according to SCOTUS.
It appears at least one cartoonist understands the biggest SCOTUS ruling is the reversing of Chevron.
But all this really means is that Congress has to do its job. They make the laws. Not the bureaucrats in the executive branch. All of our major issues seem to all go back the Congress’ doorstep. Allowing any administration to change regulations (laws) as they see fit is not how it’s supposed to work
But rather than solve the problems, politicians seem to prefer to blame SCOTUS for doing their job.
Increasing the size of the Supreme Court to offset “the gang of 6” is a terrible idea. It makes the court a permanent laughing stock. Doing so says the Judiciary is not an equal branch of government because its subject to manipulation by the two other branches. That’s unconstitutional. Of course this court is doing badly thanks to the political hacks nominated by the executive branch and confirmed by the legislative branch. What needs to happen is to look seriously at the clowns elected to congress. Names like Mitch McConnell or LIndsey Graham come to mind. The Judiciary is treated without respect by the politicians. A court which is strong, but even handed can be the best friend to the people. As an aside, NO we should not elect Supreme Court Justices. That just introduces more politics.
The current Supreme Court majority has authorized the president (that’s Joe Biden, as they may have forgotten) to break the law if necessary to fulfill his official duties. His paramount duty is to protect and defend the Constitution. The paramount threat to the Constitution is the current Supreme Court majority. Given that they enjoy lifetime appointments, there is only one sure and expedient way to end their threat and clear the way for appointees who would actually follow the Constitution to reverse the cataclysmic damage they have already done.
If only there was a patriotic cohort that would resist the authoritarians trying to turn our Constitutional democratic republic into a quasi-theocratic monarchy — not unlike the one we fought against to gain our independence from. Without diversity, equality, and inclusion, — can the Constitutional democratic republic of the United States of America still exist?
I’m old enough to remember when conservatives pretended to be against “activist judges who legislate from the bench”.
I still think Biden should wield the power that was just given to him and make that immunity work in his favor. He’s probably going to lose – or allow the election to be stolen – anyway, might as well make the last few months mean something
The only way to impeach the criminals on the Supreme Court is to vote Democratic up and down the ticket. Anything less, our system will fail, as well as our country.

So Trump wins, expands the court, packing it with more young conservative justices, cementing the majority for the next 40 + years?

And Uncle Clarence continues to politicize by commenting on the appointment of Jack Smith. Oh for the days of impartial federal judges.

if Trump wins, i’m sure republicans would be happy to expand the court. what we need are term limits for judges. 10 years seems more than enough.

FDR enlarged the Supreme Court, which is now known as the Clown Court, to get his reforms thru.
