The key to a successful memoir has to involve drugs, guns, and beer………and women, lots of sex with women, even if it’s all lies.

I believe that everyone’s life could be a well-told story, or many well-told stories. And the same life could probably it in multiple genres: comedy, tragedy, drama, romance, etc.

The key is the well-told. That would be readable. Not so well told and there is no point in reading it – live your own life instead of reading about someone else’s life. And then there is the tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury. Signifying nothing.

Who cares about (parts of) rats? Well, I can see two in the picture who (would chase and eat them). So maybe he should market the memoir to cats: an audiobook memoir told via bird sounds.

If she actually used that vacuum cleaner, not only would the place be cleaner, but he wouldn’t be able to hear her.

Hi, Wiley, question, Are you a childless Cat Man? You always manage to get a cat in your cartoons. I myself am a childless Cat Lady. And I love how you work cats into your work. You’re the Cat’s Meow!

Almost every person I ever knew occasionally got the writer bug. Fortunately for the world, the fever broke for most before any damage was done. In my case it took about 4 years – off and on -and a few dozen ballpoints and legal pads. Then I switched to a keyboard

I still regret that day. I later realized that switching from pen/paper to keyboarding had taken all the personal feeling from the doing. The salt had lost its savour as the Biblical saying goes. That was 20 years back and now, at my age, I can’t even read the notes I make for our grocery list and the keyboard still holds little interest beyond these comics, some emails, and a few business letters. So be it. Life is like that.

P.S. I still write make and write cards and personal letters by hand. Keyboarding lacks the emotional content for those.

The sad thing is we have so much knowledge to pass on, but no one cares enough to read about it. One reason why the world isn’t a better place.

Good depiction of what writing looks like. A lot of sitting around looking at the screen, looking miserable.

Right now, I’m working on an allegory, I got this crazy peg-legged captain chasing some goofy whale. Hoping I can get the words to behave and finish this turkey before Christmas.

That’s why his cat is his real muse. I had a cat, Wilamena the Radio Cat, who was my muse. She would look at me like I was about to do something wonderful. I felt obligated. It was a very creative time in my life.

Oh, I don’t know about that. Writing a tell-all memoir seems to be a requirement to run for political off ice. Most of them end up in the remaindered bin and are both boring and untrue.
