    My neighbors barbecue a couple of times a week. They use massive amounts of starter, so I get doses with hydrocarbons and then have the smokiest fire I ever saw because they throw wood on the charcoal. Fireplaces have been banned in new construction in many areas because the wood smoke is a particulate pollutant. There are much cleaner ways to barbecue that don’t give your neighbors coughing fits.
