Holiday candy tends to be low quality. That doesn’t matter to some people.

I’m very tired of Drabble’s Halloween candy jokes. Every year we have to suffer through this stuff.

We don’t give out trick-or-treat candy. But, we still buy Halloween candy. At a more appropriate time.

so so so wrong. At this rate nothing will be special. The anticipation of a special day is part of the fun

And yet no one makes a big deal over canned pumpkin being available year round.

I wanted some York peppermint patties, the Halloween version was cheaper than regular and even had more weight. First time I remember that happening, usually they raise the price for seasonal candy.

Costco (and I assume Bluk Club, too) sells those big bags of candy all year ’round. Does it really matter if there is Halloween printing on the bag?

Now that he works at Bulk Club, I wonder if he gets a discount? That would be kinda dangerous.

I predict that the constant slide towards starting holiday sales earlier and earlier will finally result in them being back at their proper time in the calander! For a year.

Halloween – candy and decorations – the worst time of year!

As to the candy – I am a chocolate addict and have to avoid same at all costs.

As to the decorations – I have the horror of having my birthday on Halloween! I hated it when I was a child and continue to do so now. Other children would have birthday parties with different happy themes from year to year – guess what theme my parties had every year. If the party was on my actual birthday the main activity for the party was – yes, going out trick or treating – no bowling, mini golf… as other children had. One year when I was in elementary school my mom said that she found a perfect cake for my birthday. My reply -“Chocolate cake, orange frosting, plastic fence, plastic jack o’ lantern, fuzzy cat.” In shock she asked me “How did you know that?” I told her it was the same cake I had every year.

My husband hates that this was my childhood birthdays as I don’t let him do anything for my birthday – no dinner out, no take out, no party, no gifts, nothing – it bothers him no end. (Though before Covid we would often to go to Lancaster, PA for same as there is a bit less Halloween there.)

Have I told you about my sister’s Dec 22 birthday and the red and green theme for same – even though we are Jewish? …
