/// When the weather turns dreary and damp,

Grampa’s rheumatiz’ makes his legs cramp.

    That’s when young Becky Mae

takes A Break from Child’s Play

for some quality time with her Gramp.

/// Her toy hoop and stick lean on the wall,

though she’s still holding onto a doll.

    Despite arthritic joints,

    out the window Gramp points

at the Angel of Death come to call.

Here they come, walking down the street,

Get the funniest looks from, everyone they meet,

Hey, Hey! None of that now! There’s a child present!

My 4 year old grand son says that the roster is mean to the other chickens. He keeps jumping on them.

I was practicing with my bow and arrows when I got Thumper over by the cabbage patch, and Flower got caught in a fox trap just behind the chicken coop. You can’t see it from here, but I brought Bambi down with the 12-guage out by the pond. We had good meat that winter.

After Grandpa went blind, the “Pull My Finger” game was less fun for him but more fun for Polly.

They waited all day for someone to come along and pull grandpa’s finger. Alas, no one did, and grandpa exploded.

    A Break from Child’s Play

    Paste (including the quote marks)

    "Category:Undated paintings" Wikimedia

(syntax supported by the Google, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, Ecosia, Brave, and Yandex search engines) in the browser address bar (or search for it using one of those search engines) and choose the first Category: found and once there find the text string Play, and click its link for info and links that point to more info about this roughly jumbo envelope size painting.

Again, a larger strip image is shown by (Ctrl- or right-) clicking the image in Mr. Melcher’s MASTERPIECE #3358 (July 19, 2024) blog entry, accessible by the Check out the blog! box after the last comment, and using the dropdown menu (even larger, if you trim what’s after .png from the URL). I have added a comment there pointing to the info about this artist I used to point to here. Only work by him used here so far.
