Brilliant. Love the broom and bat as turnbuckles, and those costumes – I swear I used to watch those two wrestlers! Weren’t they the Ultimate Kabuki and the Overtaker?

I’m pretty sure the bed isn’t built for that!

The only difference is in wrestling the models get to beat up on each other. In other words, more entertaining.

That’s about right…I recall wrestling being marketed to kids pretty heavily in the early/mid 80s. Says here the Hulk Hogan cartoon show ran in 1985. Parents thought it was cute…teachers dealing with little boys acting out didn’t. Then we got ninja turtles and power rangers…ugh. Helped me decide against teaching little kids…

So many great little details in the drawing. And Kevin has fear-inspiring face-paint to complete the picture. All in all, I don’t remember anything like such a scene when I was that age. I didn’t hang around with the right kids, or something.

If you want interesting wrestling customes, look up Mexican Lucha Libre. You’ll find quite a few characters out of the ordinary, not just the masked ones… look up “Los Rudos” (Rough Ones or unmasked players, the masked one’s are known as “Tecnicos”).
