There are few things in this world more comforting than lying in bed, warm and dry, listening to the rain beating down outside.

I’m actually dreading retiring (a bit). I’m going to go from full on, in a job I really like, to not anywhere near as much to do. However, lying in as long as I want has a serious draw.

Ridiculous, Ben, you have a dog. There is no, “Sleeping in,” only dog.

It’s good to be retired, but I have to get up. These comics aren’t gonna read themselves.

Aren’t you glad you’re not in the tent?

Better, adding some stains on your pajamas with a mug of hot chocolate, with new container of whipped topping.

When I switched from being a homebuilder/contractor to being a banker….it was terribly hard to get out of bed at six when it was pounding down heavy rain. I missed having weather days.

Neither husband nor I am a “morning person”. I am much worse than him. He quit his job back in his mid 50s as he was burned out, so other than when we have something to do or I had to go out to a client, I am going to my embroidery club meeting, or we have a reenactment event to go to, we didn’t need to get up early.

Then Covid came along. Little by little we slept later. Now, unless we (or I ) have something which needs to be done we sleep in. I started doing my work by mail with clients – email IF they have same – so we generally don’t need to keep to any schedule. When we get up we have lunch and then have dinner around 8pm.

Right now it is 1:40 am. He is on his computer in our home office as normal after the 11pm news ends. I am on my laptop in our kitchen (generally the only time we are apart doing the day). At around 2 or 3 am he will come down and we will have our third meal of the day – late night snack and go to bed. It will generally take me until after 6 am to fall asleep.

    Works for us.
