I recall Schulz saying that Snoopy’s adventures were the result of the imagination of a bored house pet. So we are a little off the rails with Chuck taking him to a tailor that has dog-sized suits in preparation for his wedding. I’m here for it though!
There were lots of dogs in WWI that gave comfort to fallen soldiers and identified the killed. There were dogs that pulled carts of materials and messages, often under enemy fire and there were many dogs that lost their lives there, in the trenches. But, alas, Snoopy , there were no dogs allowed to fly the Sopwith Camel and shoot down the dreaded Huns. Great imagination, there Fella, but no reality.
To be a flying ace, you have to have shot down a certain number of enemy planes. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Snoopy win a battle. Of course, the only battles I’ve seen have been with the Red Baron.

If Snoopy was in WWI he’d be about 875 years old now, in dog years.
