Well then, you need to grow MORE catnip! I guess that won’t work, though. They’ll still end up using it all themselves.

    Today is:

    NATIONAL FATHER-IN-LAW DAY

    NATIONAL CHEESECAKE DAY

    NATIONAL WHISTLEBLOWER DAY

NATIONAL CLIMB A MOUNTAIN DAY. I was ready to say Uh uh – no way! I am not about to go mountain climbing. But it’s a metaphor. Here is what they said about it.Today is National Climb A Mountain Day, which means this is your day to get up, show up, and move past obstacles in your life by moving personal mountains.Climbing a mountain takes training, perseverance, and dedication. The most experienced mountain climber will tell you there is always a fear of failure. However, that fear is what keeps them driven to reach the peak of the mountain. They know once they reach the top, the feeling of accomplishment and pride will remind them they can do anything as long as they commit. On National Climb a Mountain Day, we are encouraging everyone to overcome the fears that prevent us from reaching our peak. Commit yourself to accomplishing your goals no matter how high the mountain seems right now. We guarantee with a little perseverance and dedication, you can climb any mountain. We know you can!National Climb A Mountain Day is a metaphor about life. Many of us see obstacles in our life that block the things we wish for. We develop a fear of failure, what ifs, and rejection. Whether its travel, a personal goal, buying an extravagant gift for yourself, or starting a new business, obstacles always prevent us from even trying. Today is your reminder to start your journey up your mountain by realizing anything is possible if you put the effort in.

From yesterday’s comments, Billavi said:“Behind the Green Door” sounds like a great name for a movie!"

It is the name of a book, written by Ann Andrashie, who happens to be the publisher of my first book, “Wanda Weird”. By the way, I have sent her my second book, “Let’s Get Happy – A Wanda Weir Adventure” and she LOVES it! She gave it 10 thumbs up! We’re working on getting a good cover design for it now.

Here is the information on Ann’s book.

“Behind the Green Door ~ memoir of a time traveler, is a coming of age, historical, science fiction novel set in 1892 of a young girl’s journey struggling with the dilemma of time, faith and loyalty.

Where do retired time travelers go? Orphaned at a young age, misfit Camarilla Rae Berklelman is raised in a mental institution with some very special people. When another misfortune forces her to leave, she unknowingly finds herself involved as a caregiver for someone from her past. Through their friendship she discovers her true identity and a timeline plagued with misfitted mishaps. Determined to mend her wrongs, Camarilla finds herself once again in a time and place where she does not belong.

    279 pages, Paperback ebook

    Published January 1, 2023"

WHICH CAT IS OFF SCREEN? Molly had her first lesson yesterday, she and I did fairly well. The E Collar recommended is like a tap on the shoulder to get her attention. We then drove up to the Tioga Pass just outside Yosemite and took a few short walks without the crowds. Long day and I was a zombie when we came back. I think those round trip 12 hour days may be over.

Once upon a time, I found a few pot plants growing casually in a garden not too far from the Capitol. Obviously a mistake on someoe’s part—they were way too obvious. I was going to bring one into where I worked, then decided that oops! might be a mistake. But I did take the leaves…no, I didn’t smoke it!

I wonder if that was Lily getting into the catnip.

It’s funny, a couple of strips I read have started over from the beginning. All us " old timers" comment, comparing the first ones with today’s. Stone Soup is the latest to do this.

I’ve told the story which is worth repeating. My mom asked me to grow some catnip for tea. When it was about the foot tall, the local cats found it and I had a drug den of zonked out cats in the backyard for several days. They squished the nip into oblivion. I never tried that again.

Jellybean comes to mind…or maybe Jack, but he’s usually at the conference table. Lily uses more proper English.

Wonder if they had catnip back in prehistoric times. A stoned sabre-toothed tiger would be quite a sight. On another note, saw a chickadee, three Wilson’s warblers, two robins, a junco, and a sparrow while put walking today.
