Our dogs snore, but not our cats.

    Cat naps are absolutely imperative.

Woke up this morning to the Mtns to the west hidden by smoke. The California fires near Bakersfield and a smallish one on Mt. Charleston. Then there was the overturned and burned truck carrying Lithium batteries. [76000 pounds) that shut both roads leading into Nevada for 24 hours. The cars were bumper to bumper. And the one gas station along the route was out of gas. And it was 108 degrees. I’m ready for summer to be over.

Annie is much more respectful of privacy than I am, I would inspect every room in that warehouse!

There’s no business like cat business. Except monkey business, of course.

Sleep well, kitties. My four are scattered around the apartment right now, in various stages of naps.

To a cat, getting your daily eighteen hours is indeed a matter of grave and dire consequence.

    The Green Door

    Song by

    Jim Lowe

Midnight, one more night without sleepin’

Watchin’ till the mornin’ comes creepin’

Green door, what’s that secret you’re keepin?

    There’s an old piano

And they play it hot behind the green door

    Don’t know what they’re doin’

But they laugh a lot behind the green door

    Wish they’d let me in

So I could find out what’s behind the green door

Knocked once, tried to tell them I’d been there

    Door slammed, hospitality’s thin there

Wonder just what’s goin’ on in there

    Saw an eyeball peepin’

Through a smoky cloud behind the green door

When I said, “Joe sent me”

Someone laughed out loud behind the green door

All I want to do is join the happy crowd behind the green door

Midnight, one more night without sleepin’

Watchin’ till the mornin’ comes creepin’

Green door, what’s that secret you’re keepin?

Green door, what’s that secret you’re keepin?

Doesn’t sound like they’re dealing matters of grave and dire consequences. Sounds like they’re sleeping on it instead. On another note, saw four robins, a raven, and three juncos while out walking today.
