Wow, the wisdom of a “janitor”. Like the janitor in Outland and the janitor in “For Better or Worse”. Wisdom beats smart any day.

    Latin doesn’t mean “from Latvia”.

Latvia means that in Latvia they speak via = “By way of” “Latin”

“If there’s no wind, row.” Very good statement for ‘adapting to changed circumstances.’

If there is no wind, why row?….I’ll just keep fishing, thank you very much. It’s the reason why I’d row such a primitive boat on a lake to begin with, and it’s much easier to row without a strong, pesky wind :0)

Well, I had to look it up. I knew Latin wasn’t from Latvia but where did it come from? The Latini who settled in Latium. Who knew? Not me.

Reminds me of a song when I was a kid. Note the lyrics about “at least it’ll go when I row, row, row,” after passing the sailboat that ran out of wind and the power boat that ran out of gas. Enjoy: >
