I remember when I was young and my parents treated us kids to a fancy restaurant. I asked for ketchup and my parents were so embarrassed, but my mom came to my rescue and said “You don’t ask for ketchup for a meal like that”.
I can relate. When I travel, I take along my own little bottle of Cholula Hot Sauce because not every restaurant has it. Funny how many times other diners have asked me to pass it to them not knowing it’s my own. I always do of course.
It’s annoying when someone is given a plate of food and immediately dump a whole load of salt and pepper all over it without even tasting it first. If invited to dinner, or in a restaurant, that’s actually a bit insulting and rude as well. I can’t be alone in that, surely.
Sometimes a man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do. But if it were only prior to 2018, he would have liked Disney World’s Trails End restaurant. (Go to Youtube and search for trails end we need ketchup)
I like ketchup on hamburgers, french fries, sometimes hot dogs and a few other things but if steak or equivalent needs ketchup they are so poorly prepared as to probably not be worth eating.
There’s a new Heinz commercial where the woman insists on Heinz ketchup in a restaurant. They have it in a secret place. She confesses to the TV audience she’s not really a member of the Heinz family.

My dad kept telling a true story about a guy who asked for ketchup in a restaurant in Paris. The whole staff gave him dirty looks.

I had a young cousin who put ketchup on his fried eggs and even on his toast.

It’s in a glass bottle, that is classy. He’s not using packets or squirting it out of a plastic container.

Where did he store the bottle?!? “Ralph, is that a condiment, or are you just glad to see me?”

The waiter would probably just bring you those chintzy little packets, anyway! And sometimes I like ketchup, especially on meatloaf!

Nice deli in Fairfax Va, but they are very touchy about condiments

I’m sure someone at some table will now be asking for ketchup.

As a veteran of three summers at a Heinz facility, 84-hour weeks, making ketchup, I approve this message.
