My best friend was Canadian. Even over 10 years ago when we were having a conversation, she was telling me how Canadians really don’t understand why things like marriage/racial/gender equality and what have you are even still issues in America, when all that stuff has been normalized up there for a long time.

Eh? But from what me see in news it the other way around with illegals trying to sneaks into USA from Canada and that it is “at historically high levels”. It say that “more than 12,200 people was apprehended crossing illegally from Canada last year” . Some peoples is even asking questions in internet forums like “Which is the best border crossing to get into the USA from Canada illegally without getting caught?” . Just does a internet search and sees for yourself. So what is Rat trying to says here some sortsa population exchange is going to happens next?

The irony is that Pastis likes to complain about censorship and cancel culture, both of which are more prevalent in Canada than here, due to the lack of a robust First Amendment culture. He wants to move to a country that would incarcerate him for some of the comics he produces.

Yep, sure, run to Canada and dictator Trudeau, where he censors opposing opinions under broad “hate speech” laws, freezes assets of protesters without a court order, unconstitutionally invoked the Emergencies Act, regulates online streaming services, and jails preachers. And, if you think their universal health care must be wonderful, you are mistaken; there is a severe shortage of family care doctors, so Canadians have great difficulty accessing a primary care doctor. The grass is not greener on the other side of our northern border.

We won’t leave if Trump is reelected. We’re Americans. We don’t give up and walk away on our own country. Other people abandon their nation. We do not. Americans aren’t defeatists or passive fatalists, like many border crossers. We do not surrender our own nation to its fate, like it isn’t ours, like we’ve disowned it.

We attended a wedding at a lodge in northern Minnesota. It was about 100 yards south of the border which ran through the lake. Since it was winter & the lake was frozen over it was possible to just walk into Canada from there.
