I love to wake up at the crack of noon, unfortunately my boss wants me at work earlier than that during the week, and my family keeps making plans for things on Saturday mornings.

Stoy in bed until noon? That early?

A while back, I asked a friend what time he woke up on Saturdays. He responded, “Sunday”.

That is a called a morning-to-noon routine

Nope! I have to get up at 7am to read GoComics…….

Labor Day should be double poison for Garfield!

My motto in retirement, “Every day, up at the crack of noon”.

I always figured that Garfield would stay in bed until dinner time on Mondays but I guess that lunch is very important for him regardless if it is Monday.

Can’t do that back aches if I lay too long

Then eating, then staying in bed till dinner…

This Monday is different, Garfield. It’s Labor Day in the United States. You can stay in bed all day!! Woo hoo!

I thought that Garfield didn’t like Labor Day, as stated in a Monday strip all the way back in 1979.

I hate Mondays.

It’s Monday and he isn’t complaining about Mondays?!?!?!?

To clarify Garfield’s wake up comment, he means Tuesday at noon.

When I became an adult, holidays didn’t have much meaning. I was in the Navy and a watchstander (shift worker) who frequently had to work on holidays. The only was you could get that day off when you had duty was to put in a leave chit. Not to mention, when I was onboard ships, we worked every day of the week while at sea besides the fact I was away from my wife and kids. It was only when I retired and worked a regular civilian job did I enjoy those holidays and the extra time off. Now that I’m really retired, holidays, again have lost their luster except for birthdays, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter seasons. They what I look forward to.

I wouldn’t mind doing that.

I can’t sleep late on days like today like I used to. I get a headache from sleeping too long.

This has been my routine for over a decade now.

I tell people that I get up at the crack of noon.

That’s just a joke, of course. My alarm is set for 11:55. Hah!
