‘Monopoly’ is fun if the players don’t get obnoxiously competitive. My teenage friends and I would extend our gaming sessions past the time when tokens and money ran out, by adding extra markers and paper money. Several times of us got quite ‘wealthy’ and had many hotels on Boardwalk and Park Place, as well as lesser properties. Everybody else went bankrupt, but he loaned them money at exorbitant interest rates.We didn’t resent it. It was hilarious.

I wonder how many billionaires played Monopoly as children … and then grew up to play it for real.
