It’s a male thing. My wife is just as sympathetic as Janis.

They’ll clean up the place so well they won’t want to leave.

It’s hot enough to take him outside and hose him down.

I have a pair of pants, shoes, and a shirt that all have paint/oil spots on them. I wear them occasionally so that my wife thinks I am busy with something important.

Did you get any oil on the tools?

My wife looks at me when I am dirty, grimy, sweaty and says “You need to take those things off!” but then gets very frisky.

Methinks Janis may get jealous because Arlo had an intimate time in the garage with his tools. I am unaware of the female equivalent of such an experience unless it’s spending time in the closet with her shoes.

I’ve broken in (ruined my wife says) more t-shirts and jeans the same Arlo did

Is “oiling and polishing my shop tools” a euphemism?

I can actually park and work in my garage. However there is a section for the wife’s storage of things we just have to have. I condensed them down to storage containers with labels for posterity.

We men must take great care with our tools. Use them, clean them, and put them carfully away. Mind the zipper.

My tool-twisting days are over. I used to do all my oil changes ,tune ups. etc. Once swapped an engine in my daughter’s Corolla. Cars changed, I got old. All I can do is check the oil and tires.

I wonder how many of us grew up with a “rag bag”? Is that still a thing?

That is what the mud room I built is for. Strip down, toss the filthies into the wash, shower off and then enter the civilized portion of the house.

As kids, we knew there were two kinds of clothes; school clothes , and play clothes…shoes too. Roller skates only go on old shoes.
