In a nutshell, folding bike helmets are the modern-day cyclist’s dream. Not only are they simply more ideal – you can fold them away into your bag straight after cycling – but they also look great, they are just as secure as normal helmets, and they don’t carry too much weight, either.

If cars can have crumple zones, I see no reason why bicycle helmets can’t also have crumple zones. As long as they stay in tact where they are supposed to, that’s the important thing. Personally I’ll play it safe and not wear a helmet at all…, problem solved. ;^) (Obviously a joke.)

I once bought a full-face motorcycle helmet at a garage sale; got it home and noticed that the chin piece was separate, “secured” by something like electrical tape.

Yeah, tossed it & bought a real one.
