I had a friend who, because of his religion, wasn’t allowed meat. He’d come over to my home once or twice a week to grab a ham and cheese sandwich. Shhhhh!
After watching “Lessons in Chemistry” on Apple I started researching the benefits and drawbacks of using beef tallow and was shocked to learn that if used moderately the benefits are huge. After using it in place of veggie oils my last two cholesterol screenings have shown a very noticeable rise in HDL (the good one) and a lowering of LDL (the bad one). Too bad it’s not as good for baking but my fried potatoes have never tasted better.
Unfortunately, this is too close for comfort. Every vegan I’ve come across does just that. They also then have a go at you if you’re not vegan yourself and try to change my eating habits. They also keep going on about the health benefits. Erm, not quite sure about that since they have to take vitamin supplements because their diet doesn’t give them everything they need. Maybe I should switch to just beer as that apparently has all the nutrients you need?
As a vegetarian who aspires to be vegan, I never bring it up unless I’m at a meal explaining why I’m not consuming meat. Or there’s a cartoon about it.
Never me(a)t a vegan, but have a good vegetarian friend who keeps it to himself unless asked, ie. dinner parties … even then, he usually contributes a veggie tray AND great desserts…!

And you will be sick every minute of every day henceforth; every vegan will pause several times to sniffle when saying “I’m a vegan”.
