    And “atlatl” ticks people off in the NYT Spelling Bee, where it is never accepted. Most likely because it is a foreign word that is not widely known or used in the USA.

    Looks like the same principle as those things you can buy to throw balls for your dog, but I think they are just called “ball throwers”. If I need to launch a pointy projectile, I’ll stick with the good ol’ bow and arrow. Or better yet, a crossbow, because they look way cooler.
