There is some truth here. I’d argue what we’re mostly to blame for is not recognizing our own agency, the positives in our lives, and how good we have it compared to many, many people.
“Howdy-do to you and you. It’s me, it’s me, it’s Ernest T.!” Rock-Solid Leadership: Ernest T. Bass for President (Rock-Throwing wild rowdy hillbilly from the Andy of Mayberry Show).
We have self-government. That means ‘We, the People are to blame. And we are to take the credit for attaining the world leading and historic levels we have achieved. We are by no means perfect, nor will we ever be finished trying for perfection. But just imagine if we were to achieve the truths our Founders wrote, “…all men are created equal…” eliminating racism, bigotry, misogyny, while maintaining our differing opinions about life and politics. Our historical Nation’s successful growth comes from those differences.
@[Traveler]: “we” don’t come up with the choices, “they” give us limited choices. It’s like living in a small town with only a McDonald’s and a Taco Bell, but no grocery store for 150 miles. What kind of diet is the average person there going to eat?
Blame is the excuse people use so they don’t need to make an effort to improve. As such, blame is a conservative attribute, progressives focus more on change and improvement.

Funny how Democrats have been in power 12 of the last 16 years yet everything is Trump’s fault. (and no, I don’t like Trump)

Democrats and Republicans are wings of the same bird. We need to pull back the curtain to see who is the puppet master.
