You’re never too old to learn new things. And Daryl doesn’t really look that old (except through his kids’ eyes)

On a tangent, one thing I find terribly annoying about new computer type devices is you have to press the power button for an indeterminate amount of time to get them to turn on or off. What is that all about?? Yesterday, I had to press the Kindle power button for 30 seconds or more to get it to turn on!!

Every time Microsoft update Windows, you have to learn it all over again – not how to use it, but where the F they’ve hidden all the useful stuff this time and what’s been removed that used to be good and you’re now left wanting.Windows 11 is taking the mickey big time. All my work efficiencies that I have setup on Win 10 have gone in Win 11. Instead I have to click multiple times to do what I can do in one or two now. And Win 10 slowed me down over Win 7. Gets worse every iteration.I Googled “what does Win 11 give you that Win 10 doesn’t”. It came up with a few lame additions that don’t benefit me, but gave a massive list of all the things I’d lose.Hard pass. Sticking on Win 10 as long as I can. Work will be updating to Win 11 soon, so not happy.

When I’m confronted with ageism I just remind the mouthy fool that if he or she does not want to get old I can help them with that.

He is obviously FAR too old to learn anything new. Just ask Zoey.

Zoe, life is one ongoing process of learning. You have just learned that there are times to keep you mouth shut.

A wonderful thing about being a software engineer, technology completely turns over every couple of years. During my career, I’ve learned many new things, both hardware and software. Was fun, too.

I have the view if you need to learn how to use software then it is usually poorly thought out – there are exceptions, such as CAD, where you need to develop knowledge/skills to make sense of the software – but for most business management stuff it should as simple a ordering from Amazon to pickup.

A Business lead was saying he can’t recall a system go into production as smoothly as a recent deployment from my team, users didn’t feel training was required – personally I thought we could have done better as it didn’t look as smooth from my side.

This strip and Zits are my favorites, with Cathy, Doonesbury, and Sherman coming in at a close second.
