    Today is:

    NATIONAL CHICKEN BOY DAY

    NATIONAL FORGIVENESS DAY

    NATIONAL HOTEL EMPLOYEE DAY

    NATIONAL PASTOR’S SPOUSES DAY

    NATIONAL BURNT ENDS DAY

    NATIONAL COLLEGE DAY

NATIONAL ACNE POSITIVITY DAY. National Acne Positivity Day spreads a message of acceptance and self-love while putting our best face forward. As many of us know, we judge our appearance more harshly than we do others’. Often times, we allow outside point of view to affect our confidence based on our appearance. There are days, where we judge each blemish and mark. The day encourages us to let go of the stigma associated with acne and take time to love ourselves for who we are. W

NATIONAL NO RHYME (NOR REASON) DAY. National No Rhyme Nor Reason Day recognizes words that do not rhyme with any other words in the English language. Words that don’t rhyme with any other word are called refractory rhymes. Poets reason that avoiding these words helps keep their poetry consistent. However, refractory words only interrupt poems where rhyme and reason matter. Some unrhymable (or nearly unrhymable) words in the English language include:

    Orange

    Month

    Silver

    Spirit

    Chimney

    Purple

    Woman

    Ninth

    Pint

A few days ago, daleandkristen asked me for an update on my kitties. Especially Annie and her kids and Raven. I just haven’t been able to think of much to tell. They are all well. Annie still only lets me pet her at bedtime when I give them all their canned cat food treats. Then she’s as lovey dovey a can be. She rubs up against table and chair legs and rubs up on the other cats and she lets me pet her as much as I want. She still prefers not to be picked up and cuddled, though. She loves to sleep in the cat bed in the upstairs hall in the morning to catch the rays of the morning sun. But as soon as I get up, she jumps out of the bed and runs downstairs. I don’t even have to open my bedroom door. I just open it a couple inches and peek through the crack and she jumps out of the bed. But then when I go in the bathroom downstairs, she goes in the bathroom, rubbing her face on everything she comes close to (including all the other cats). She’ll stroll up as close as a few inches from me, but that’s it. But at least I know that she’s happy as a house cat. It’s much nicer than living as a feral! Of her 3 kids, Pebbles is by far the friendliest and most affectionate. She’s the only one who will sit in my lap. And I can hold her and hug her anytime I want. Cindy allows me to pet her, but holding and hugging are out. Panther still won’t let me touch her. She’ll lick treats off my fingers, but if I make a move to touch her in any way, she backs off. I can accept her as she is, though. Raven, (who is not one of Annie’s kids, but who was dumped in my yard last summer, is very sweet and likes to get in bed with me. She’s my youngest kid. My oldest is April, who turned 15 this year. She doesn’t let me touch her either. She has never liked being touched, even though I’ve had her since the day she was born. Her 4 littermates were all loving and sweet. But all of them have crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

Interesting variant on the dozens: “Yo son…he a mangy ball of fur…”

Also, does this mean it’s time to forgive the GPS?

Awww, Chesney found his Poppa. How sweet. :)That nasty rat should have scat when he had the chance. Now he’s gone splat! On another note, saw six robins, a squirrel, three sparrows, a Steller’s Jay, six juncos, and a dragonfly while out walking today.
