Invariably here in Florida we’re hit with a frost early in the season and then have a warm winter with brown plants.

Fall hit us quickly for two weeks. Now we’re having Indian Summer where Temps are in the low 70’s during the day and low 50’s at night.

Yesterday we almost matched the record high temperature (1901) for the day. Tuesday is the typical first frost, the forecast says late November this year. I grew up in Illinois in the 1950s and our Halloween costumes were always baggy enough to accommodate a snowsuit if needed.

Here inTexas it’s still in the nineties. If we’re lucky fall and winter may occur a couple days in January.

North Left Coast Oregon: Rain for two or three days – sun and 70F/45F split for a few days – same old same old until it really starts raining in November. At least at the moment the dry leaves can be blown away.

A few, less than a hundred, leaves (scrub oak) are turning, and pine needles are falling, not enough to cover the ground or rake (thank You). Still hitting the low eighties (not talking my golf here) during the day, but dropping almost half that, 48ish, by dawn, when the dog wants to play fetch. Thank you Lord for coffee.

Isn’t that what happened 18 years ago in Buffalo? Trees full of leaves do not fare well. (Saw it happen in Maryland several years earlier with a little less snow)
