Caulfield probably doesn’t have pale thighs. Though I’ve known a few folks with his apparent coloration who were pretty pale by the end of winter… but browned up a LOT with sunlight. None of them had hair that curly though.
How about Flannel Shirts and Shorts? For this Old pasty guy, I do like shorts. And if I had my way, my long pants would only be 3/4 length at the longest.
A little surprised there. At least part of Frazz’s legs are exposed when he swims, bikes, and jogs. Of course then they might look like he’s wearing orange knee socks but who would care.
Here in San Diego the fall uniform is out: Hoodie, shorts, flip flops. When it gets cold (daytime highs in the 60’s) the winter uniform will come out: Jacket, shorts, Ugg boots.
Not the first time Caulfield has taken note of Frazz’s winter pallor. That must have been some jolt to his retinas if he saw it back in—what, April? March?
I never thought about it before, but I have never seen a flannel shirt that wasn’t some variation of plaid. Are there no solid-color flannels? Stripes? Spots?
Caulfield has led a sheltered life if he hasn’t encountered a retina-burning plaid. “That’s not a plaid. THAT’s a plaid,” as Loch Ness Monster Dundee said.
This past year I started playing outdoor pickleball in March, before the sun got really intense, and for the first time in mumble mumble decades I didn’t start the year off with a sunburn. (Yes, my normal pallor is as white as a Wisconsin winter.)

I never cared for flannel shirts. I need to move where the thought of wearing one never crosses one’s mind….

It’s never not flannel shirt season. Admittedly there are days warm enough to not need it, but I never put it away

I thought we weren’t supposed to make fun of the color of people’s skin
