I remember those fake soda-can wraps. One of the nice things about living in Germany is a more relaxed attitude about beer. They do take age limits seriously but you don’t need to pretend it’s a soda or hide anything in a paper bag. Still there seem to be no more “winos” than in the US. You can also buy a beer to go with the sausage from the stand in the park.
