to those in the USA Happy Thanksgiving. To those not, have a blessed day. As the ancient question goes – April showers bring May flowers, what did the May flower bring?
Just how stupid is this kid? He appears to not realize that “that’s the reason I usually don’t” implies that he does not like it when his mother is nice.
Calvin’s utterly static personality means one can read only so much Calvin and Hobbes before tiring of it for at least a while and moving on. I know that’s the same limitation seen in any static comic character, such as Dennis the Menace (who of course is simply a less intelligent and more well-meaning version of Calvin) or Garfield; but it’s more striking in Calvin and Hobbes because the strip is so intellectual.

Best wishes to all today, a tradition that has not changed even in the face of floods of Christmas ads. Enjoy it while you can. Lots of changes ahead.

Thought maybe it was Calvin trying to get onto Santa’s ‘nice’ list but he doesn’t play that game.

The lesson: Set the bar low, and people will be overjoyed when you accidentally stumble over it.
