What’s an emptor burger?

A cafe called Caveat selling an “emptor” burger? Be afraid.

Feeling lucky? Would that be the Dirty Harry Cafe?

Caveat’s bullet-proof window got penetravit by one “Fluffy biscuit.”

Even the health inspectors must be afraid to go there, since the businesses are still operating.

Every city/town/village has an area like this one. They just don’t include it in the tourist maps.

Don’t think I would try out their cuisine.

These are local hangouts with good food and good prices that intentionally post one star reviews to keep the tourons away.

The one star district should have a lot more graffiti and trash

When I lived in Los Angeles I would go to Korea Town for Korean BBQ and no I would not go there late at night. During the LA Riots none of the rioters dared to go into Korea Town, even LAPD would not go there so the businesses exercised their 2nd Amendment Rights and posted lookouts on the rooftops and in front of their business.

“Caveat Emptor” is Latin for “buyer beware”.

I worked in a big office building after graduation, and there were no lunch spots nearby, so the building’s landlord set up his wife and daughter with an unlicensed sandwich shop in the building. They had no refrigerator, so we soon learned to not trust their meats – and definitely don’t get mayonnaise on anything… that shop had no business name sign, so we called it the “Ptomaine Deli”.

So, it begs the question? Why are you looking for a restaurant there ? ;-)

That and the CRIME.

No chain fast food?

If you want to have even one Star from Michelin you are very far from that district already.

The food it cheap and awful. And served in such small portions!
