Homework was my “job” per my parents and I was to do it myself.
Then again – my mom went to parents’ night when I was in elementary school – maybe third grade or so. She came home upset. “Your teacher told us how much homework she gives every week and all the other parents were complaining that it was too much and the children cannot get the work done. How come you always say when asked that you don’t have any homework”? Me – “I do the homework on the school bus coming home.” (And I always did.)

He can “help” Gracie by not interfering… and he’s smart enough to know it.
