As you break in your clothes and make them more comfortable you come to the realization that you may never need to buy new clothes again.

At least he’s not wearing pajamas in public, which I’ve seen a lot of people of all ages do. I remember, on an episode of “Seinfeld”, Jerry chiding George about wearing sweatpants in public: “You know the message you’re sending out to the world with these sweatpants? You’re telling the world, ‘I give up. I can’t compete in normal society. I’m miserable, so I might as well be comfortable.’” But now, people wearing pajamas in stores?!? Unbelievable.

He might want to use suspenders, unless he’s comfortable wearing his cargo shorts around his ankles.

I’ve been given to understand that we can lose our sense of taste as we get older… I did NOT realize they were referring to FASHION taste!!!

I’ve always dressed for comfort, never been a slave to fashion as my dad would say about trendy clothes

I’ll stick with my “hikers”: all-day comfort and durable.

San Diego uniform: T shirt, shorts, flip flops. When it gets cool, Hoodie, T shirt, shorts, flip flops. When it gets cold (50F), Puffy Jacket, T shirt, shorts, Ugg boots. Now you know how to be well dressed in San Diego.

I long ago got tired of being treated like a herd animal by industry. Yes, I am a consumer; but I am also more than that. I do not exist just to keep companies in business and the economy going. I am not just an economic tool. Just because something is “fashionable” or “in” or the latest “upgrade,” doesn’t mean I have to buy it or even like it.

Sometimes over-sized is too darn awkward.

It’s not about losing fashion sense, it’s about coming to the realization that 99% of the time other people’s opinions don’t matter. People will give their opinions and judgment with absolutely no knowledge of the situation.

There comes a time for many when comfort does rate over style but crocs will never survive in my house. Between utter dislike for them (tho I DO accept and respect that they are comfy for many standing career folks) and two significantly chewy dogs, no chance :D

One of the greatest perks of aging is that the older you get the less you have to care what other people think. Especially if you’re a MALE plugger!

I retired on the coast of texas, warm and windy. Quickly it became a grey t-shirt instead of polos, first time as an adult male, faded camo cargo shorts replaced my slacks. So flip flops instead of loafers. Came back from an Alaska trip with a bushy white beard. One day I was standing in a long checkout line at Rockport Texas’s busiest convenience store. I was stunned to see that of the 15 people in the 3 checkout lines, 9 were bearded old men (anglo, hispanic and Black) with fuzzy white beards, free t-shirts from various fishing events, faded camo shorts, a mixture of crocs and flip flops and their own giant coffee cups in for the $.79 refill. Yikes! I made a wardrobe change that same day. It sneaks up on you.

It’s a nice day. You’re comfy with a cup of coffee. Never mind the shoes.
