Tomatoes are both. The are fruits botanically/scientifically so are cucumbers and peppers but in culinary they are classified as vegetables in cooking. Even have been declared vegetables, legally, as part of trade and other things.
I like The Thing from Outer Space (in large part because of the dialogue and characters and the relationship between Margaret Sheridan and Kenneth Tobey) and Alien (because I saw it in a movie theater and it was scary and because of Sigourney Weaver’s character).

It’s a fruit disguised as a vegetable.

Knowledge is knowing tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.

One of the characters in Kate’s movie is played by Jack Riley, who will always be remembered as Mr. Carlin in the great sitcom “The Bob Newhart Show”.

Shawm is correct! My heirloom tomatoes came up beautifully this year! I’m planning on growing more!
