Feels like I’ve been getting a two-minute warning at work lately. Trying to get ready for inventory and making up for others’ doing things the hardest way possible. Means I stay an extra hour or 2 and work on days off
Some people are always late coming in but leave right on time! Go figure! A two minute warning will give them time to gather their stuff annd be first in line to clock out on time….
Most people do take a two minute warning. The only differences; 1. It’s not officially in the employee handbook, and 2, most times lasts longer than two minutes.
I worked at a job where you had to clock in and out for your shift. A guy, I worked with was always trying to game the system by trying to get someone else to clock in and out for him, his friend was the same way, even though there was a sign posted by the clock warning that both would be fired if caught.
What none of us knew was there was camera focused on the clock. Sure enough he got someone to clock in and out for him. one day in the middle of shift, security showed up an escorted him and his friend out to the building with them selling they hadn’t done anything wrong right up to the point they were told there was video.
They threatened to file a lawsuit, etc until several of us were asked and agreed to testify these guys had approached us to get us to help them in their little schemes,
Oh, the joy of NCAA football. 6 games in the morning, 6 in the afternoon, 2 more in the evening. So, I start out with a major network game and the score is 28-0 in the 1st quarter. Switch channels and get similar results on every station. Finally, I find East Nevada vs. Rhode Island Quaker Academy, score tied 5-5. Could be a nail-biter. So, I pick up my crossword puzzle book and work puzzles during commercials, time-outs, instant replay reviews and half time. Total game time, 1 hour; total tv time, 3 hours. Are we having fun yet?
They need a two-minute warning to know when the work day is winding up? So Veeblefester doesn’t allow clocks, watches or other time-keeping devices on the premises? Well, actually, that isn’t a total surprise, is it?
ABSOLUTELY NOT. “Two minutes” in football is INTERMINABLE (as I always found out as a kid while waiting for that #$##!@#!! football game with “two minutes remaining” to actually end so my program wouldn’t get pre-empted). A “two minute warning” at work at 4:58 pm could mean not getting to leave the office until 5:30 – or worse!
at the first company i worked for you could always tell when it was 5 to 5 because all the “office ladies” (yes, that’s what they still call female office workers in japan) disappeared into the ladies’ room to do their makeup…

I thought Veeblefester was giving the employees warnings every 2 minute already.

Considering how long the game lasts after the two minute warning, do you really want that???

Two minute warning at work for end of day? So they can strategize about which Bar they’ll hit on the way home.

You can tell it about the end of the day at work because everyone is smiling.

I doubt he would ever be that nice.

No need to. I’d just call it game over whenever l was done. Watching the clock just would make the day seem longer…..

If we have to go to work, let it last two minutes.

I have found that 2 minutes in football often takes 15 minutes. Don’t give Rancid any hints.

My students provided a two-minute warning when I was teaching.

Two minutes is too long to wait for an after work beer.

I am guessing that with 2 minutes to go Brutus has his hat and coat on and is looking intently at the clock so he can bolt exactly at leaving time!
