Waiting for Santa, John?

Just being a good husband and father.

Christmas spirit running in his veins.

I’m glad Mike is able to sleep after that ordeal of oral surgery (and the end of his romance with Rhetta). Edgar looks so cute sleeping on the bed with Elizabeth.

Saint Nick will soon be there.

So John decides to share his discomfort.

From Lynn’s Comments: Sigh,…Forty-eight seems so very young now.

I think most adults grab sleep when they can.

With the look on Ellie’s face, John must have just touched her in an intimate spot with a cold hand.

That feeling when you realize you’re as old as a comic dad that you read about when you were a kid.

I’m sure that’ll be me when I’m that old too. :J

It took many, many, many years for me to get to sleep at a decent hour on Christmas eve, John…..your not alone.

Hold on to the joy and excitement- keeps you young. Now the joy is in giving the gifts more than getting them. Nothing wrong in it. I am the first one up always and it drives me crazy waiting for everyone else to get up cause I want to get that dopamine hit of pleasure when they light up. heh heh heh hubby gonna lose it (in a good way) this year. _

How I used to dread the night of Christmas Eve when I was little! It was interminable.

All I want for Christmas is sleep! Got rid of the skunk/s under the house though, now if the smell would dissipate.

Looks like they still sleep in a full-size bed… I’d think that John could afford a king, definitely a queen..

I can sleep but I still look forward to Christmas morning myself and I am well older than 48 my son……

Are you allowed to sleep if you have kids?

He’s only 48?! He looks older than me, & I’m 72!

Maybe realizing all the toys he has to assemble!

So now we know that in the original run, John was born in 1947 and Elly sometime around 1952.

Time for a little loving…….

As long as there were still children in the house, I had trouble falling asleep Christmas Eve. I would always be downstairs before dawn, lighting the tree, making coffee, start playing the Christmas music, getting the camera ready … and, finally, wake up the kids. I loved watching them opening their presents.

The last Christmas in office for me, Joe and Trudeau.

If you don’t sleep, Santa won’t come.

Lucky you. Sleep can wait. Let the Christmas festivities start. Merry Christmas to all!

I am up on Christmas Eve to look at the tree without the children and my wife thinking I am wuss. I set there in the quiet listening my children making noise in their sleep, hearing my beautiful wife snore, (she claims that she never snores), petting the dogs, and watching the fire in the fireplace. Then, when I hear my wife wake up and know that she’s going to come get me to bed, I hurry down to my den and fire up a game of World of Warcraft, and act guilty when she tells me to get off the dumb game and come to bed.

Liz will have very numb legs in the morning.

Doesn’t he usually sleep with April?

Anyone else find this CREEPY?

Let’s set aside the younger kids, but peering into the bedroom of his 18- or 19-year-old son like that??

If I was woken up by the door creaking and saw my Dad standing in the doorway with the hall light behind him, staring at me, I think my reaction would have been “WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?” with possibly a choice expletive thrown in for effect. Or imagine if Lizard Breath woke up, not even to see him in the doorway, but lurking over her bed in the dark, like Nosferatu – I imagine you’d hear a piercing scream!
