My Ericka, who I swore understood more English than many Americans, would calm down when I said, “It’s okay, Mommy’s here.” She knew that meant I would take care of whatever was bothering her.
Well the Garage Sale is over and it was a huge success. The mystery grab bags were a bit hit. We sold 137 of them at a dollar apiece. They each held two or three small knick knacks like VTG China, mini toys, VTG sewing items, glass things etc. People were buying three and four at a time, and the kids loved them. All told we made over $1200 for the whole sale! And we bought another auction tonite and will pick it up on Wed. This one was for vases etc, about 8 pieces and cost a whopping $3 ! Who says old age is boring!
NATIONAL BLACK CAT DAY. A day for my Panther and Raven. I’d love to give each of them a hug in honor of the day, but Panther won’t allow that. So I guess I’ll just have to hug Raven twice.
LOVE LOVE LOVE Graham’s poems, especially this one!!! Off to pick up kitty, but first an out of the way stop at Walmart to replace my bathroom heater that caught fire a few days ago!!
I’m back home with the Siamese who is hiding behind the hot water heater and hissing at me. But I also brought home the “leftover cat” Curly Joe, who will be remanded Joey. He is a big beautiful mostly white cat with a few grey patches and a striped tail. The woman whose mother died leaving 11 little dogs and 4 cats just sobbed when I said I would take him – her cat will not tolerate another cat in the house. She has found homes for 6 of the dogs and is keeping 2, just 3 more to go. They are all little dogs, so not for me. I think the skittish Siamese will adjust better with a familiar friend.
Wonderful poem and great artwork. Annie always makes things better. On another note, saw a varied thrush, six juncos, and a chipmunk while out walking today.

So cute and clever!
“Are my lives done?” — great line.

This Halloween is so underwhelming…what, with one of the most frightening Election Years in US history….

I couldn’t grasp rhyming ’’fur’’ with ’’there’’……but then I remembered Graham’s Canadian.
