Remember Wopody Allen’s character Virgil Starkwell playing cello in the high school marching band in “Take the Money and Run”? He would run ahead of the band, set up his chair, and play while they marched around him. Neil has a better system IMO.
We were going to do “Innagaddadavida” at halftime one night during my junior year of HS. Plan was to roll a platform out onto the field with a drum set, an electric bass and an electric guitar. We rehearsed that chart for weeks. Don’cha know, it rained that night and we couldn’t do it. IIRC, it was our last home game; at the very least, it never came out of the library again, not during my senior year for sure.

not going to happen. The person in charge of marching band isn’t even going to think about letting that instrument try out.

I hope he remembers to dump out the mop water before he puts the cello in the bucket.

A “band” consists of instruments that can be played while marching; otherwise it is an “orchestra”. That’s a fact.

As a cellist, I’m appalled!
