AI gives bad answers, when they’re not completely made up nonsense. It has no place in science or medicine, unless you want really bad science and medicine.
I do jigsaw puzzles on an online site and many people post puzzles made from AI generated pictures. Many of them are beautiful but the pictures of people are downright creepy.
Steenky so called “AI” okay for science and medical stuffs? Whaaaaat? Oh noes them steenky bugs ridden computer program ain’t good for notheengs. They gonna destroys science and medicine. They not really AI but just steenky big computer program that is marketed as AI. This is the real problem with that. Maybe it good enough to use as autocorrect. Steenky autocorrect could use some replacement for sure. But it just going to be another spy looking at everytheengs you types.
Computer programs is just tools. They ain’t intelligence. You can using it to correcting spellings and grammars but big no no for “generating” contents. Because all it do is steals from original (and also from other so called AI generated nonsense) contents and then remixes em and gives you a pile of nonsense. Same theeng with creating peectures. Bah and phoeey. Nopes. Nopes. Nopes. Theengs is already going down the drains with internets all spammed by lotsa so called AI generated garbage. So Called AI. That is how me is gonna calls em from now on. SCAI. And you should too.
Georgia posted yesterday (In case you missed it) Hello! I’ve had some folks ask if I’m still giving my library talk this Saturday. Yes, I am! This will be the first “back to work!” moment for me since I lost Dad, and I’m really looking forward to giving the talk and focusing on the comic and fun ghost stories for a bit. It will be at the Snohomish library in Snohomish, WA this Saturday November 9th at 4pm. If you can make it, I’d love to see you there!
Apple’s most recent operating system, Sequoia, is supposed to have A.I. incorporated in it some time this year. I have only one question for them: Can it be disabled? If not, I will not be “upgrading” my OS until it can be disabled.
Elbiff has a very dignified looks on his face. And was it not you yourself who was advocating that aliens is exist in a mews repurrrt some months ago Elbiff? What happen now cat gots your tongue?
On the content front, copyright doesn’t cover AI. That means that anyone can use the AI content you created for themselves without penalty. Sites like Amazon Kindle delete books where AI is detected so writers need to be very careful about using it in their original works. And 20 years? I’ve been watching the creation of this tech for years, and most of what we fear is already here. AI content may be filled with incorrect information, nonsense, and bad writing, but it’s improving exponentially.
OT sort ofThis would have fit better yesterday but I was int the aftermath of a reaction to my flu shot, or maybe it was the election. Anyway it was very late when I read the Orb so I waited until now. I read this back in the 4th grade and think of it after every election. I think it was in a book called “Poems for the John” and it is the only one I remember. Here goes.

It’s not just Tiny Santa, but mailmen, too. Elvis doesn’t believe in anything he’s never seen before, even if he has seen it before.

I thought to myself “Well, if sometimes the comic has that eerie way of making things come true, …I might as well try…”
I know the request has always been for me to write a strip where I win the lottery, lol!! However, this felt like the dice to roll.
Here’s hoping!
Thank you, Killer Roombas from Outer Space! Let’s hope you work your algorithm magic over the next twenty years, lol!

Maybe Elvis can hire Goldie to look into the (supposed) “invasion.” That could lead to the post-it discovery.

The Moody Blues: The Story in Your Eyes
I’ve been thinking of our adventure
And I’ve decided that we did the best we could
For the effort that we all sustained
Turned out for good!
…….
And we friends all stick together
For the music to the story from the skies
It’s been shining down upon us now, I realize.
…….
Listen to the song from the cosmos
Washing fear and heartache away
We’re part of the music of the universe
And we can join in the love for always!
…….
Are you frightened for the future?
With the music the story’s not in vain
And together we will endure through sun and rain!
…….
Listen to the song from the cosmos
Washing fear and heartache away
We’re part of the music of the universe
And we can join in the love for always!
…….
Are you frightened for the future?
With the music the story’s not in vain
And together we will endure through sun and rain!
…….
The music pauses for a moment,
But it’s certain that it’s never going to end
The Orb can always rest assured
When there’s always friends.

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
At the Royal Kitchen
Thomios: Bea gave me this scroll from the Lost in Futurity collection. It mentions something about achieving whorled peas.
Sue Chef: We do have a supply of peas, thanks to sources of which we know not. How do you whorl them?
Thomios: Apparently you need something called Artificial Intelligence, whatever that is.
Sue: Maybe they mean Artistic Intelligence.
Thomios: That must be it. And I know exactly where to find it.
At the Artisans’ Studio
Maat-Tilda: I’m sure we can use peas in our artwork. We can use them like beads.
Adobe Style: We can take a lot of multicolored beans and peas and string them for jewelry.
Arachna: Sounds like an opportunity for my web spinning friends to create decorated webs.
Sophititi: And I’d love to create a found object sculpture with them.
Thomios: Excellent! If we all join together, we can achieve whorled peas!

The Tiny Santa arc….starts 12/3/2023 with a Sunday strip starring OZ. The “tiny” bit begins 12/4 with, who else, Lupin.
Several folks have asked, so I thought I would add it here rather than as several replies.

Out of curiosity, I gave AI a small part of my OTHERWORLD books to see how it would adapt the passage as a prompt.
It was…interesting. And totally off-context. Taxis had a lot to do with it, as well as completely different characters and species.
Not a pleasant experience.
