Just when the action picks up a bit this coming week, next Sunday December 1, we get another 2 week Minit Mystery! I know all of you have been excitedly awaiting the return of another one!
A type of trust account where the account holder, or settlor, names a beneficiary and acts as the trustee for the account during their lifetime. Once the account holder dies, the beneficiary can access the funds in the account without going through probate.
This strip began on October 21. It is now November 24. Do we have a crime yet? Is there even a crime?
I mean, yes, we have a murder of an international saboteur acting erratically. But our assumption has been directed to our thinking his murder is somehow connected to the big crime. (TBC) And TBC is related somehow to the locked tower because Tracy’s ESP told him so. But I pointed out yesterday we’ve seen nothing other than a highly unrealistic murder and have no reason whatsoever to believe the thing in the tower is criminal in nature. It could be a collection of Playboy magazines, a moonshine still, or Junior’s drag queen outfits.
Was the murder done by the TA janitor for simply robbery and all this tower nonsense simply a shaggy dog story?
Or, in a less charitable mood I might say we, the readers, are the victims of a crime in a story with no point thus far and about to be interrupted.
SAM: “Haven’t seen Smuffleufagus lately on the Street! So, Big Bird? Is he gaining weight lately? I Mean…vicious concealed raptor, or…friendly doofus? Makes you WONDER, right?”
Everyone eeeeeeeases out of the room, locking the door behind them.
1- SAM: Tracy has done nothing but stare out the window since Thursday! He’s beginning to smell!
2- :MEANWHILE In 1949, a much chagrined Heinrich Himmler decides that it’s now safe to make his way from Argentina to the USA where…
3- : …he forms a construction company using his new alias – Totten – the German word for “Dead” which given his history, was a little too on the nose. (Not to mention that everything his company built looked like a Concentration Camp.)
4- LIZZO: Why are you smelling your finger, Sam?
5- SAM: Huh? Oh. You remember – Tracy forgot to order toilet paper. AND to top it off, I forgot to wash my hands after “using it”. As a detective, you really should a been able to figure that out…
In the last month we have seen a couple of turnstile hoppers arrested, one of them a Russian immigrant murdered off-frame, and the other associated with a company that was started by a German immigrant coming to the US in the wake of WWII that is now building a plaza with an old clock tower that doesn’t work.
I almost forgot – “displaced person” Paul Totten must have entered the U.S. in 1949 due to the Displaced Persons Act of 1948 (see the Wikipedia article on it).

So, I think they are saying that the corrupt son is the third generation, right? Sam still doesn’t know what’s going on and we don’t either.

Sam’s instincts are kicking in—-but now we need facts to match the instinct.
Say—remember the three sisters who liked to desecrate Jewish cemetaries for kicks>They ticked Sam off big time
