As English libel law has it: “The greater the truth, the greater the libel”. Hobbes Esq. should warn the parents, and Santa, that the Noodle Incident better not be mentioned, ever.
And they DO go out of doors after this, to try and make their way to the North Pole to present their case to Santa. But they don’t make it far due to Calvin’s impulse to throw a slushball at Susie. They skipped the second half of that arc during the 1994 rerun cycle.
This is only time I’ve ever heard insulting an attorney is a criminal offense. Imagine all the comedians, not to mention Shakespeare, who may have spent behind bars.
Over the past several years, I have been following the live streams from a District court in a rural county in Michigan. As it’s so small, you get to know a lot of the participants, so it’s like a TV show. The judge has lived there all his life, was a prosecutor for 20 years and a judge for a similar period. It seems like he knows everyone, I think his middle name should be “I went to school with your Grandpa.”

LOL… for a Tiger that knew nothing about the law, Hobbes is doing a good job of trying to keep Calvin from being on Santa’s Bad List.
