    Snow wonder?

Actually dome shaped abodes have not been confined to igloos or the geodesic domes of Buckminster Fuller. The Apache Wikiup for example.

Check out the Wikipedia entry on Wigwam.

Most perfect? Besides not making sense, why is it perfect?

It’s the shape/structure, not the material, that matters.

What do Eskimos (sorry, Inuit) use to fix cracks in their ice houses?

    Igloo!

But it did catch on, anytime you see a dome you’re seeing an igloo.

Go ahead and build one when it snows, Kid. Then watch it as the sun begins to hit your area more often. You’ll understand and you’ll never forget. Few lessons are that gentle or long lasting.

We had an igloo we used to bring along with us to soccer games all the time. They’re great.

These are the things that you enter thru a low-lying tunnel that you have to get down on your hands and knees to use? And that’s “most perfect”, you say?

I was thinking of yurts. They’re pretty close to being igloos that aren’t made of snow.

I recall reading that the circular shape is considered best because there are no weak spots. (Unless, of course, it’s made badly.)
