Am I the only one who has never had cats who were passionate about kibble? All my kitties treated it like a Vitamin Sawdust they had to tolerate until they could get to the star-of-the-show, the belle-of-the-ball, the best-in-show WET FOOD (or even better the little slurpy sticks of soupy treats)….
Well, I can see how much the cats love the food; I have been feeding my neighbors’ cat every morning for a few days, and she is meowing and waiting by the garage door to get the wet food faster, even while I am trying to put it into the bowl. It’s adorable, but also slightly annoying.
My cat loses dignity if I even say the word “kibble.” He’d eat until he threw up if I didn’t ration him. And he gets wet food and a gushy as well. I don’t see how he eats kibble. He has no teeth.
I had two cats, brother and sister. I had two bowls for kibble. The female would go to one and her brother would go for the same one and nudge her away. Then she would go to the other bowl, LOL! Nothing different about them.
We need some clarity here, so I’m going to provide it. There are exactly two kinds of cat food: crunchies (which some call “kibble” or “dry food”) and squishies (which some call “wet food”). You’re welcome.
Folks, this is off-topic for today, but apropos of conversations we had at the end of the OIXL arc (so some of you won’t have paid attention, I’m sure). Remember the discussions of teen lingo, and “cringe”.
Well, “cringe” has made a list of ‘banished words’ according to Lake Superior State University. lssu.Edu/resources/about-lssu/traditions/banishedwords/
I admit, I had never heard of LSSU, but they’re obviously a highly reliable and reputable institution, based on this example!
Our vet suggested that we get an automatic feeder because our cat has a tendency to gorge. She knows within about ten minutes when the food is going to drop. She takes up a semi-hidden post about 3 feet from the feeder. She hates wet food.

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
Thomios: Thanks for bringing in the Kibble barrel, guys.
Iggy: No problem. Like the Royal Procurers always say…
Wally: Don’t take more than you can lift.
Iron Glove: How did we come by this much kibble, anyway?
Four Voices: We’ll never tell!
Thomios: Hello, Ladies! Are you ready for your cheese excursion to places we know not?
Ta-Natash: Yes. We can’t tell you where, but rest assured there will be plenty of cheese in the offing.
Puckmosis: Do you really want to go on another long trip. You just got back from the future.
Agnes-Ata: If it’s for cheese, you gotta do what you gotta do.
Thomios: I’ll have a travel pack ready for you after lunch. We’re having kibble crackers with a charcuterie tray.
Violet-Ifa: Sounds like a plan!
